Lessons from the Gospel and a Prophet

It's always a scary feeling when your in the midst of a semester and yet you feel unable to do any homework. Not because your tired or feel unproductive, but because of situations that are basically out of your control. Yeah, that's where I am tonight, which is why I'm here with you sharing a piece of my life, for the world to see. I thought I would share a little bit of what God's doing with me currently. Hope you find encouragment and are challeged too.

  • Mark 7:24-30 Someone pointed out that God wants us to be persistent. Here we see a woman who came to Jesus with a need and knew that He could help her, if He chose. But Jesus didn't help her right away. It was after she begged and begged Him. There were reasons that were valid for not helping her, but yet it was through her persistence and begging that He healed. What does that mean for me? It means that at times, I am to be persistent and to beg Him. This doesnt mean that I whine and complain, but that in faith, I come to Him believing that He can answer my prayer. And that I beg Him for things that are in tune with His will.
  • Luke 12:22-48 We've heard these passages before and they talk about not worrying about things or do they? While it is true that we are told not to worry in these passages, I think we miss the point of the passage if we think we arent supposed to worry and then just move on.
  • Isaiah 35:8 In light of my current struggles with life, it was really encouraging. "It shall belong to those who walk on the way; even if they are fools, they shall not go astray" It is so comforting to know that when I mess everything in my life up, out of foolishness, God will still take care of me. And lately I've been feeling pretty foolish. It's times like these when I wonder if God just put a certain passage in just for me, to give me hope and encouragment.

Yea, I just finished talking to you but I was sent to your blog and it is what I needed to hear/read...ha. Sometimes begging at the feet of Christ, praying with our heads bowed to the Lord, and following Him for an answer is the best thing. I guess I just needed to see it more clearly. He does answer prayers and even with all our foolishness and sin still loves us enough to give us His Son to be our bridge and our key into the eternal kingdom. So many times I think that the Lord put those words in just for me but that just shows how He speaks through His Word and how well He knows us, so keep listening to His words that are just for you :D. Love ya tons Faithy! Have a great night!!
