This is the beginning of a new year and I can't help feeling excited about what God will do and teach me, but also a little anxious. I guess this is a good time to look back on the last year and what God has been doing and teaching me. So here's a list:
1. I lost two of my three living grandparents right after I left for school a year ago. But through it, He provided the money for me to return to school.
2. God taught me about grace and showed me that I had no idea what it meant. And began to realize how much I need it. When I realize that, it has a way of humbling me. And I realize just how incredible He is and His grace is. WoW!
3. Over the summer, He began to help me to be content with singleness. This is not to say I want to be single my whole life :) Its a stage in life and until He sees fit to change that, I should be content with it.
4. He has given me some great friends. Without them I think I would have lost the little sanity I have left (thanks Amber, Yasi, and Rebecca!).
5. God has also brought me to new churches (in both CA and OK). Though I'm not really involved in either church, I feel that I belong there and am looking forward to getting involved.
6. This year at school I've gotten involved in SLS and really enjoy it. But what is most encouraging is to see the new students passion for getting involved. Its pretty cool!
7. He brought me to Matthew this year and challenged me. Matthew 6 and 7 specifically. I just began looking at chapter 7 this past week and realized that I could be studying that chapter alone for a long time. I'm beginning to see that a lifetime isn't enough time to completely understand God and His word.
Those are just a few things I've begun learning this past year...I'm excited to see what God has for this year!
