As nice as it is to be back home, enjoying all that home has to offer, I am already missing Delhi. With home comes the pressures of life and decisions that need to be made about the coming year. But I have found that I am more rejuvenated coming back from India than when I left a month ago. Who knew working in India could be so refreshing!?
One of my main reasons for going to India this summer was to see what life was like there and whether it was the place for me. Each day I would ask myself whether I could see myself there and whether it was a place I could call home in a permanent way. There were a few times where I thought India was not the place for me. But I asked God to show me whether I should return and I believe He answered. While life in Delhi was hard, life anywhere can be hard. But reminded me that He is the same God in Delhi, India as He is in California, USA. And when I left a few days ago, I left with an answer. And I believe that one day I will return to India, maybe not permanently, but I will return. The question is, when?
Often we think that things need to happen according to our plans, but God proves that His timing is best. I can't tell you how convinced I am that this was where God wanted me June 2010. He evidenced it to me on multiple occasions and knowing that you are right where God wants you is the most incredible feeling in the world! In the same way, I trust that in His perfect timing He will bring me back to India. But for now, I must pray for the people and the ministry that God allowed me to work with in Delhi. And I look forward to continuing to see His new mercies in my life as I return to life in the States.
Below are two pictures. The first is of the adults that I, along with 2 other team members, got the privilege to teach English to and share many memories with. The second was taken on our return from India, when we spent a layover in London.
