The semester had just ended for her, she sat alone in her dorm room suddenly feeling more alone than she had in a long time, aside from her first Thanksgiving away from home. But found such relief when her friend walked in and forgot all thought of loneliness. The next day, she flew home, well part way. Her connecting flight was canceled and she ended up staying the night with a cousin, but enjoyed it more than she would have, if she'd flown all the way. Two days after returning home, she asked for her old job back, at the restaurant she'd left four months before. It was only then that it started feeling like home. But soon after, she was reminded all the short-comings of the life she knew growing up. Less than a week after returning home, she was ready to return to her new 'home'.
As time went on, there were many good and bad days at home. But a lingering question filled her heart and mind, 'would she be able to come back for a second semester of college?' God had led her to the college she had started attending, but there was not enough money for her to return the second semester. But she believed God would provide and no matter what, His plan would be done and it would be the absolute best. All along the way, He kept reminding her He would answer her prayers, from showing her a Bible verse, to a song, to even a dream. But the deadlines neared and the waiting continued, she wondered whether it would happen. Still she held hope in her heart. This Christmas felt extra special to her, though she didn't know why. What God had in mind that made this Christmas special, she didn't know, but she felt it would be the best Christmas gift she could receive. It didn't matter whether she was given any other gift or not, she had the hope of Christmas and the gift the Giver had for her, which brought all the joy she could hold. Someday, she hopes you will know the wonderful hope of Christmas and that no gift can even compare with it.
