A Change of Plans

Yesterday I took a flight leaving California for Oklahoma, little did I know what lay ahead. It started out better than any other flight (but I’ve only had 2). To my pleasant surprise, there were four other people from school on the flight, one sat next to me. We were delayed twice and ran thirty minutes later than planned. When we arrived I immediately ran to find my connecting flight, which I was told was half way across the Dallas airport. But I soon found out that my flight was canceled. My cousin knew it was canceled before I did, so he was at the airport waiting for me. We tried to meet up and find my luggage, but it didn’t exactly work. To get to my cousin, I had to go all the way across the airport. But I ended up asking a guy from an information desk. After quite a wait, he took me to where my luggage supposedly was. But after going completely across the airport and to two different terminals, we found out that the luggage was inaccessible for at least one or two hours. By that point I was very hungry and my cousin was tired of waiting, so we left. But God had placed on my heart to tell the guy from information “God bless”. At first I thought it would be wrong to tell someone who probably didn’t believe in God, “God bless”, it seemed sacrilegious to me. But after contemplating, I realized that God can bless someone in many different ways, so I asked God to bless him, by leading him to Himself. This was a way God could use me as a testimony for Him. So, when we said good-bye, I said “Merry Christmas...God Bless”. He didn’t say much to it, but I had the feeling, he didn’t feel comfortable with that. And I believe God used me saying that simple everyday phrase to His glory and in the life of the guy that helped me so much. Today my cousin drove me home and we got my bags without trouble. It was then, that I realized that this was an encounter designed by God, for His purpose and glory.
